WONDER VALLEY RANCH

A charming ranch resort located in the foothills of the Sierra Mountains. Originally established in 1911 and was California's first guest ranches. It's early history included a colorful past of outlaws, Indians and ranchers. The infamous Dalton Brothers Gang made Wonder Valley their hideout during their days in California. Dalton Mountain overlooking the valley received a historical landmark monument in 1994.

Today Wonder Valley Ranch Resort is a full service property with dining hall, cocktail lounge, 6 conference rooms, two swimming pools, gift shop, tennis courts, whirlpool spa, horseshoes, walking trails, horseback riding stables, private lake for boating and fishing, basketball courts, athletic fields for football, soccer, softball, a barnyard petting farm with several miniature animals and 52 charming and comfortable accommodations.

Wonder Valley specializes in group events such as corporate retreats and conferences, large group picnics, various camps, family and high school reunions, senior bus tours, weddings, international tours and recently opened in 1994 for individuals for Ranchstyle Bed & Breakfast.

Group events enjoy many of the organized activities such as the WV Gambling Hall (with Wonder Valley funny-money), theme nights such as Murder Mystery, Hot Havana Nights, Rodeo Follies or Western BBQ Jamborees, horsedrawn hayrides, magic shows, good time piano sing- alongs, and even bus trips up to the Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks.

Individuals who are visiting this beautiful area may also want to take the short drive up the mountain to see the Nation's Christmas Tree (General Grant) and the magnificent General Sherman. The giant sequoias are the oldest living things in the world. Visitors may also want to drive to the nearby town of Reedley and visit the Mennonite Quilting Center for a fascinating look at the art of quilting or stop in at the restored 1903 Reedley Opera House. A stroll through downtown Reedley is like stepping back in time to simpler days when Main Street was the place to be and even strangers greet you like old friends.

A great time to visit Wonder Valley and the beautiful San Joaquin Valley is in February and March and see the famous Blossom Trail. Acres and acres of fruit and nut trees burst out with colorful blossoms of pink, white, maroon in all shades.
