    Walking
Picnic timeMost days we plan to walk for four hours or so, with a long break for a picnic lunch, perhaps a stop at a bar, and always plenty of time for photos and admiring the views. Most of our walks will include a special attraction, such as a wine tasting, a chateau visit or a local market. If you only want to walk for half a day, that's fine by us - feel free to relax at the Manor, or visit a local town in our minibus. You'll need good broken-in waterproof walking boots, a small back pack to carry your own water, a lightweight waterproof jacket, and casual clothing. If not used to walking we recommend you put in a couple of miles a few times before you come.
While we love to go walking we never forget that you're on holiday. If you want to take the day off, or plan something a little different, simply ask - if we can oblige, we will with pleasure.

    Accommodation
The Manor is situated at the heart of the village of Domecy sur le Vault, five miles from the spectacular medieval town of Vézelay.

There are five spacious rooms with en suite bath/shower facilities (W.C. on each floor) and each room enjoys a view along the valley.

     The Manor

    Le Parc Naturel du Morvan
We are located on the northern edge of the National Park, a region of immense natural beauty and rich heritage. The trails and bridleways make for wonderful walking through unspoilt countryside where it seems sometimes our only other company are the wild flowers, butterflies and birds that abound.
Bring your binoculars and you will have every chance to see red-backed shrikes, black redstarts, kites, serin, hoopoes and harriers. With luck we may be able to show you the more elusive black woodpecker or golden oriole.
